Time management basics: schedule mode, time slots and day types

Master the three core concepts of AIVI time management — schedule mode (weekday/rest-day vs by weekday), time slots (with three limit types) and day type (regular / public holiday / make-up workday) — to build rules that match your family routine.

Time management decides when and how long your child may use the PC each day. All rules are configured in the Windows client under Settings → Time Management, or remotely in the web console (Dashboard → Settings → Time Management) and pushed to the device.

Three core concepts

ConceptWhat it isCommon values
Schedule modeThe global dimension used to schedule the PCWeekday & rest-day (default) / By weekday
Time slotA rule of day + time range + control method18:00–20:00, 60-minute limit
Day typeA slot only applies on days whose type matchesRegular / Public holiday / Make-up workday

The standard scheduling formula

AIVI uses one formula to decide whether today counts as a workday or a rest day, regardless of the schedule mode:

  • Rest day = Sat/Sun + public holidays (including your custom winter/summer vacation) − make-up workdays
  • Workday = Mon–Fri + make-up workdays − public holidays

Reading the slot list

The slot list has three columns: time range, day type and control method. For example “09:00 ~ 21:00 (public holiday)”, “Limited (60 minutes)”, “Points-based” and “(use 45 / rest 10)” show when it applies, which day type it applies to, and how it limits use.

Configure from the web console

  1. Sign in and go to Dashboard → Settings → Time Management.
  2. Pick the schedule mode and target day row, then add or edit slots.
  3. Click Save and apply to device at the bottom of the page.
  4. It takes effect after the device's next heartbeat (~10 seconds).
