Eye-care rest cycle: how to set use 45 / rest 10

Enable “use N minutes / rest M minutes” in a slot's advanced settings to force a lock-screen break periodically, together with pre-lock reminders and a countdown, helping your child build healthy screen habits.

The eye-care rest cycle adds a break rhythm inside a slot: after N minutes of continuous use the PC locks for M minutes, then unlocks automatically. A common setting is “use 45 / rest 10”.

Setup steps

  1. 01

    Open the slot's advanced settings

Settings → Time Management → select the day row and slot → Edit slot → click Advanced >>.

  2. 02

    Tick “Enable break”

Fill in “use every N minutes” and “rest for M minutes”, e.g. 45 and 10.

  3. 03

    Configure reminder and countdown

On the Time Management page set the pre-lock/rest reminder (default 5 minutes) and the pre-lock countdown (default 30 seconds) so the child is prepared.

  4. 04

    Save and apply

Click Apply Now; in the web console click Save and apply to device and wait one heartbeat.

How it differs from a normal lock

  • Cycle rest lock: unlocks automatically when the rest duration ends — a protective pause.
  • Slot-end / quota-exhausted lock: waits for the next allowed slot, or needs a parent unlock or points redemption.
  • The lock screen top message distinguishes “eye-care rest” from a time-slot lock so the child understands why.
