Software updates: how to upgrade the Windows client to the latest version
AIVI keeps fixing issues and improving features, so it is best to keep the client up to date. The Windows client has a built-in update check: the Software Management page in Settings shows the current version and the latest cloud version, and can upgrade in one click. If the update fails, you can download the installer from the official site and upgrade manually.
Option 1: one-click update in the client (recommended)

Open the settings center
Verify the parent password on the client home screen to enter Setup mode, then click Software Management on the left.

Check versions
When the page opens, the client automatically checks for updates in the background and shows the latest cloud version. Compare it with the current version to see whether an update is available (the bound domain is also displayed).

Click Software Update
Click the Software Update button at the bottom to check again: if you are already on the latest version, a message says so; otherwise a confirmation dialog appears. After confirming, the built-in updater starts, downloads and verifies the new package, then launches the new version automatically.

Confirm the upgrade
After the update finishes, reopen Settings → Software Management and confirm the current version is now the latest.
Option 2: manual upgrade from the official site
If the download fails, verification does not pass or the update is cancelled, the client offers to open the official site so you can download the latest installer and upgrade manually.

Open the download page
Click Open Website in the failure prompt, or click Go to the Download Page on the Software Management page.

Download the latest installer
Get the latest aivi_setup.exe from the download page. The China and international editions share one installer; the wizard picks the server site automatically by system region.

Install over the existing version
Run the installer as administrator and follow the wizard — it upgrades over the existing install, no uninstall needed. Installed clients can switch the server site anytime in Settings → Server Site.

Verify the version
After installation, open the client and check Settings → Software Management to confirm the current version is the latest.
Things to know before updating
- Versions use the format Year.Month.Day.Build (e.g. v26.9.10.1 — the first build released on Sep 10, 2026).
- Updates only replace program files. Usage records and configured rules live in the system data directory, so no re-binding or re-configuration is needed after upgrading.
- Updating requires internet access. If the current network is restricted (school network, proxy), switch networks and retry.
- If antivirus software blocks the updater or installer, allowlist AIVI and retry.
